3 Unique Hideaways in the UKLike2

It’s funny how we always run away from our real age as we grow older. I know I have. It’s taking me a long time to realize though that age has given me what I was looking for my entire life – it has given me me . It has provided time and experience and failures and triumphs and time-tested friends who have helped me step into the shape that was waiting for me. I don’t fit into me right now perfectly yet, but I am trying. Sure, there are days where I fail and my head wonders…but then, it stabilizes pretty fast, you solve it.

The same goes for travel. As I mature and grow, so do my destinations.  It seems like everyone is making a bucket list to cross off but I can’t seem to keep up with my list from growing year after year. Seems I’m adding more rather than crossing off!  Here are few of my favorite unique hideaways…that I know of at least.

1. THE CHAPEL ON CLOUD ISLAND – Scotland

For a far-flung romantic getaway, this luxury chapel conversion on the Isle of Skye makes an ideal furlough. Complete with Scandi-style sauna and spa bath overlooking Loch Harport and the soaring mountains beyond, The Chapel on Cloud Island offers a unique self-catering experience like no other in Scotland. En suite shower room with walk-in shower and WC, large bathroom with sauna and spa bath and even a bbq! I can live here forever.

2. THE EDGE – England

Set in a cliff top location with a bird’s eye view of Whitsand Bay and the surrounding coast, The Edge is the perfect luxury self-catering beach hut for honeymoons with a difference. A modern take on a traditional Cornish beach hut, there’s a fresh flavour to the luxury interiors of this eco-friendly cedar-clad creation. With a floor-to-ceiling picture window offering views from your luxurious pillow, the only concern will be who’s on tea-making duty! It has a fully-equipped kitchen, TV/DVD player and radio/CD player/iPod dock Internet & Communications:Wi-Fi internet, An electric Weber BBQ. The setting of The Edge is a real wildlife haven, look out for cormorants, kestrels, peregrine falcons and dolphins.

3. THE BEACH HUT – England

First built in the 1920s for use as a genteel tearoom, The Beach Hut is the ultimate coastal hideaway. This unique beach shack in North Cornwall occupies an enviable nook on the edge of a stunning coastal 52 acre estate, making it an idyllic location to inspire writers, artists and lovers alike. By day, there are several golf courses, coastal walks and woodland rambles for explorers of any ability. As night falls, lovebirds can enjoy a romantic candlelit dinner alongside the toasty woodburner; or snuggle up under a blanket on the rocking chair outside to stargaze from the veranda.

  • There are so many beautiful view points in Dubrovnik that’s easy to find. This one was from a place called Panorama Bar, views of the Old City,
the Lapad Bay and the nearby islands.
  • Maybe she’s on his mind just as much as he’s on hers ... 🌔💫
  • Please don’t ride elephants 🐘 Ride bicycles instead 🚴

  • The gates of Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Angkor empire. There are 5 gates to the capital, built in the 12th century. The main gate was made with sculptures of 54 gods, one on each side, and the same number of demons on the other. I got that eerie feeling while driving through. I was in a Tuk Tuk and couldn’t help but stop and take a deep breath before entering, my heart was beating out of my chest. I’ve only made it to 2 gates but would love to go back and learn more. Looking at the picture got all the feelings back 💕

  • You will always be the one person I’ll never stop looking for in a crowded place 💕
  • A little green overdose and into the jungle 🦋
  • I am made up of thousands of others. Everyone who has ever loved me, cared or inspired me or spoken one word of encouragement to me. Who I am is because of the people in my life 💕
  • They told me I had to be ready at 4:30am to watch the sunrise at Angkor Wat, the UNESCO site and the largest religious monument in the world. A Tuk Tuk drove me to the site, it was about 30 minutes off-road(ish), dark with no street lights and it was cold. I sat outside the temple gates looking at absolutely nothing, total darkness. I couldn’t see a thing for an hour. Then, sunrise... and I start seeing shadows of the temple and colors in the sky and there it was. They said that I was one of the luckiest ones because October is the wettest season and so they rarely get a clear sky at sunrise. And here I was, staring and what was once a black endless nothing to a place I always dreamed of ever seeing! 💕
  • You know how sometimes, your life is so perfect you’re afraid for the next moment, because it couldn’t possibly be quite as good? That’s what it feels like being in Cambodia for the first time.
  • Permission to call it my own... permission to hold on to whatever I fall in love with.
  • It was the last morning in London @thesavoylondon - I always get emotional leaving this city! A place I once called home 💕Happy weekend everyone!
  • Spent one morning with Annee on @demamielskin farm where she taught me what she learned on Chinese medicine, meditation and the way her essential oils were made. I even got to make my own! Her products are sold on @netaporter and she has a 3 year waiting list!!!! She’s an incredible woman and partnered up with @virginatlantic to provide the ‘Altitude oil’ for upper class passengers. #LivefromVirgin
