4 Travel Essentials This SummerLike0

When it comes to traveling, the only daunting aspect in my opinion is packing. Every time I prepare for a trip, I always say to myself “this time is different, this time I am not going to over pack”, but that’s never the case! However, I did notice that no matter how much I’ve packed, there are always those few pieces that I keep going back to even if I’ve worn them several times already. And that brings me to my point: Travel Essentials.

Here are my 4 travel essentials that I never leave without when heading to any country by the sea during the summer.

4 Travel Essentials This Summer

Travel Essential number 1: Shorts

Allow me to highlight the benefits of shorts when visiting any coastal country: acquiring awesome tanned legs, allowing that summer breeze to tickle you all over, easy to wear, and the list goes on. However, before you choose a pair of shorts, remember that this is a travel essential so they have to match a range of things. My recommendation is to choose a solid color, or one with a bold pattern that’s easy to match.

I personally love these pair of Suboo lace shorts as they can be dressed up or down anyway you like. Plus, black has always been a staple in my closet.

Another personal favorite are these Talulah shorts with a black and white pattern that can easily be matched with several different tops.

Travel Essential number 2: White Top

Irrespective of where I am in the world, I have found that one thing I always looked for at some point during my trip was a white top. Whether it’s a casual lunch by the beach, dinner at some fancy restaurant, or just a quick shopping spree (and by quick, I mean at least 3 hours’ worth), a white top is my go-to piece as it can match with virtually anything.

My picks are these two beautiful yet different tops that can be worn day or night, and would pair nicely with shorts, pants or even a skirt.

This Lover’s & Friends blouse speaks volumes to me. Its open back with the lace band is ideal for showing off that perfect tan.

Travel Essential number 3: Maxi Dress

A maxi dress is my favorite travel buddy. Sometimes during my travels (and I am sure this applies to many of you out there), I reach a point of exhaustion, but my love of exploration keeps me going. However, it’s not always enough to push me to get dressed fashionably. So instead of looking like a mess, a maxi dress would be my choice when it’s “one of those days”. A light, airy dress that’s easy to move in is essential, as you don’t want to be uncomfortable at any point in your travels. You also don’t want to be tripping all over the place, so make sure that your maxi dress is not too “maxi”, meaning it doesn’t scrape the ground and creep under your shoes in an attempt to make you fall face down first.

This Mara Hoffman cut-out maxi is perfect in length and style. The slits ensure that you won’t feel constricted while walking around.

Travel Essential number 4: Swimsuit

Wherever you decide to travel in the world, even if it isn’t on the coast, a swimsuit is essential. I remember the many times I traveled to Europe and thought to myself “why bring a swimsuit when you’re not near the beach”, and how I regretted it every time. A dip in the hotel pool after a full day of sightseeing or shopping is the best way to relax and recharge for the next day. The best thing about a swimsuit is that it won’t take much space in your already over-packed suitcase.

And what’s better than one of these beautiful Mara Hoffman swimsuits that make a bold statement wherever you are. My favorite part is that they are reversible so it’s like hitting two birds with one stone!

Carla Douss, a financial consultant by day and fashion guru by night, always had a passion for clothes and shopping ever since she was young, and took any opportunity to style her friends and family. The idea of opening her own online boutique,, came to her as a result of her sisters always borrowing her clothes, and every time they were asked where their outfit was from, they would answer “Carla’s Closet“. The concept behind Carla’s Closet is to provide women all over the world with unique designer pieces that are fashionable yet timeless and affordable. Each hand-picked designer comes with their own story, individuality, and life experiences which they reflect into their pieces making them truly distinctive.

  • My childhood friend of 30 years took this picture of me last week when we drove to Bekaa Valley in Lebanon. We’ve been friends for so long I can’t remember which one of us is the bad influence 😂. It was so random because she kept on insisting that I don’t turn away from the camera and I couldn’t stop laughing before a bee almost attacked me!! So there you go. Happy Tuesday 🇱🇧♥️
  • Ever been to Croatia? What does this place reminds you of?
  • I had a chance to get away into Bekaa Valley. From the 1st century BC, when the region was part of the Roman Empire, the Beqaa Valley served as a source of grain for the Roman provinces. I took Chloè and stayed in a lovely cozy guest house called @al_haush and explored the fields of crops and vineyards. 🇱🇧 I’m so in love with Lebanon 🇱🇧
  • I found this little lake by mistake on the way to Bekaa Valley. I was surprised given that it was in the middle of nowhere and the water was blue and cold! Where would you suggest I explore more in Lebanon? 🇱🇧 #Q30 #infinitilebanon

  • The ancient Phoenician wall in Batroun , Lebanon between (3,300 B.C. to 64 B.C.)
Batroun was once one of the most important Phoenician cities in the region and is one of the oldest cities in the world! It is by far, one of my favorite places in Lebanon 🇱🇧
It was super windy that day but I managed to get few shots on my drone until the battery ran out on me while flying!!! I honestly have no idea how it just landed inside the church walls on its own and not in the water!! 😊
  • Faqra ruins, an archaeological site in Kfardebian, Lebanon, with Roman and Byzantine ruins. It’s one of the most important sites of the UNESCO sites. 🇱🇧 I didn’t know which picture to share so I posted both 😊
