5 Reasons to Travel with StrangersLike0

Traveling is a brutality. It forces you to trust strangers and to lose sight of all that familiar comfort of home and friends.
You are constantly off balance. Nothing is yours except the essential things: air, sleep, dreams, sea, the sky – all things tending towards the eternal or what we imagine of it… and, I love it. It takes a lot of courage but if we over think it, we never get to experience wonderful things.

Here are 5 reasons to travel with strangers

Learn to let go Being a stranger is one of the toughest thing that can happen to anyone. You can feel left out and lonely. Traveling with strangers forces you to let go of that and alters your personality. For photographers, being behind a lens they can disguise the fact that they have nothing to say to strangers, don’t let it be your lifesaver. It helps you grow and let go of that feeling and eventually…friendship builds.

Trusting comes easily Something is so comforting about a stranger, it’s as if they exist forever the same. You can open your heart out to them, that’s the thing about flying with strangers, you could talk to someone for hours and never even know their name, share your deepest secrets and then never see them again. Maybe, you also even start taking restaurant tips, trying new adventures and activities and possibly more open to new experiences.

You can break free anytime That is worth a million dollars. Excusing yourself to take some time out will come so natural and easily with no judgements or pressure. You are free to roam in any direction you want at any time you choose to.

Falling in love Some of the best people you meet were once strangers. Traveling with strangers can open your heart on the way you see yourself. Falling in love with yourself all over again. They can help you see the good and beautiful in you. They can help you grow.

Learn from each other Make life about more than just you. Smile at strangers; volunteer for a bigger purpose and don’t except anything in return. Ask questions, learn their name, find out what they love, what their fear is. You can learn so much from strangers when you travel together. Enter their world if it’s interesting enough and I promise you, you will always look for more!

  • Soneva Fushi is an Island that celebrates the natural environment. The first sustainable luxury hotel in Maldives since 1995, creating a positive impact on Baa Atoll and the neighboring islands. I was proud and happy to be part of the island and learn so much more about sustainability travel. @discoversoneva
  • Hello winter in Dubai. Back here for a couple of days and rushing through the week before I take off again. I was fortunate enough to have met and worked with @zeebalife who I quickly ‘clicked’ with the moment we started chatting earlier this year. I don’t ‘click’ very easily I must admit... and I’m very much in my own bubble... and that’s ok... so when I do, I hang on to them because it just works without any effort. And it’s the best kind of friendship. Happy Sunday! #MyDubai
  • Just because she let go... doesn’t mean she wanted to... 💫
  • Let’s take a ride to the spa together 🌴 @fsmaldives
  • Droning isn’t always easy in Maldives especially when you see seaplanes crossing and guest worrying about their full right privacy. But at sunrise, when everyone is still asleep, and when the jets are no where close by, you can always fly really quick and capture the beauty of the island - ❤️🌴 @fsmaldives
  • I am drawn to your imperfections. I am drawn to shared interests and hobbies in people. I am drawn to the light in your eyes when you talk about something you love. I am drawn to your success and to your failures and most of all your challenges. I am drawn to every non-perfect side of you, because otherwise, everything will be lifeless.
  • How long can you stay in Maldives? For me, I think I can do about two weeks and never get bored, even on rainy days! @fsmaldives
  • From where she drones from @fsmaldives Who said a 5 year old couldn’t use a drone haven’t met Chloè 😊
  • Sometimes, unexpected friendships are the best 💫 - Sunny, @saltysun__ the surf manager at @discoversoneva has started a sustainability surfing programme - one of its kind in Maldives. So when she told me let’s go out at sea in the pouring rain with crazy winds, I just knew we would be friends instantly! I can’t begin to describe how much I adore the sea and what it means to me. I’m in my element. ❤️
  • A wish you were here kind of moment 😊

  • Touchdown back to my favorite place... Maldives.
Getting involved in our ocean conservation efforts by the marine biologist at @discoversoneva and the sustainability programme they are working on, for example, the Soneva Ocean Stewards (SOS) programme has taught hundreds of children how to swim and encourages the local community to appreciate the precious marine ecosystem surrounding them.
  • The year is almost over - flew by so quick at times and times it passed too slow!! This was shot in January early this year. I have a good feeling about 2018 despite 2017 being a little challenging. What are your Christmas plans? I’m spending it in Lebanon with family and friends, what about you?
