5 Things You Need to Love – Travel EssentialsLike0

Lately, there have been few things on my mind. Coconuts, sea salted orange Lindt Chocolate to name a few. My mind has an open tab on pinterest and filing things in my head over and over again until new things come along. Recently, it’s been anything that makes my life easier. Some old and some new and mostly (all) of my recent obsession travel essentials.

Chanel Hair Mist

I’ve always thought I would damage my hair by spraying perfume onto it. Chances are, I probably would if I have. I was always allured and secretly questioning those women sitting next to me at a restaurant or in the elevator and how their hair smelled so…fruity and had that perfect clean floral or fruity scent. I have to admit though, I did try…just once… but then it just got that sticky alcohol feel to it. Regardless the failed attempts, I was always curious. That’s when Chanel’s Hair Mist came into my life. So, as they say a whirlwind of optimism and the unexpected, I believe both in this case were true. The floral-fruity fragrance Chanel Hair Mist, Chance, (Pronounced CH-AH -NS) isn’t perfume so you can imagine how delighted I was to find out that it boasts a special, protective formula that delicately perfumes the hair without drying it out. The 35 ml size is practical and easy to use—you can take it with you anywhere to revive your fragrance at any time. So I gave Chance a chance.

Important tip:  Spray the hair mist directly onto your brush or in a cloud over your hair and not every 10 minutes.

Kaizer Travel Bag

When Mary and I traveled together last month for some business meetings, I couldn’t help but stare at her travel bag. I don’t usually stare…at least that long, but it just looked like I wanted to push her, steal the bag and run. Instead, I did the noble thing and got myself one. Identical to hers. Expect mine had a teeny tiny personal touch to it… It has ‘Travel Junkie Diary’ written on it… just to make sure in case one day she’d have the same thoughts I did! Handcrafted Italian leather accessories from Kaizer is definitly one travel Item I am loving at the moment and I think this one is forever.

My Zara Hat

I tried googling the right word for someone who is ‘addicted to hat’ …I couldn’t find it. SO, my friend Houda said to call it a ‘madhatter’ or, if you find the word, please have me know. My addiction to hats go way back to when I was 12 perhaps. The Zara hat made a huge debute for me on the Travel with TJD trip! I can never travel without it anymore, so it made it into my 5 Things I’m Loving  and travel essentials category.

Coco Chanel RougeTruth of the matter is, I never expected to have a lipstick on my list. My every day lipstick consists of my lip-balm due to the hot weather in Dubai or the cold weather in Europe. Everything changed when Keira Knightly’s poster wearing the new Rouge Coco Lipstick happened. The collection features 29 new shades in 6 colour palettes (Nudes, Oranges,Pinks, Rosewoods, Reds and Plums), each named after the friends, loves and muses of Mademoiselle Chanel and I picked Emilienne to be my best friend. Numero 452. With their new Hydra-boost complex, the lipstick leaves lips with a supple, comfortable veil of hydration which deeply nourishes and plumps lips. The formula also allows for build able coverage, with a natural effect with just a single stroke or two strokes or more for even bolder color. Plus, it’s so photogenic in pictures!

  • Lebanon in summer is all about exploring. Found this new hip beach bar on the coast of Byblos. The graffiti on the wall, the hanging hammocks in the water and the vibe, makes this place one of the cutest beach clubs I’ve seen so far. I love my beautiful home 🇱🇧
  • The last time I switched my laptop on was 5 days ago. The last time that happened was exactly a year ago. My phone is most of the time misplaced far away from me, my camera is still in my bag, my mind is switched off and I’m surrounded with love 💕and music 🎶. So happy to be back in Lebanon on my official summer break.
  • Home sweetest home ❤️
  • I love the the 3 AM version of people... Honest, vulnerable and real.
  • I have some sort of mental block this morning... which is a good thing so... Happy Thursday ☀️
  • This is a (long) thank you post... To my teachers.
Thank you for showing me my true strength... Not only physical strength, but more importantly mental strength.
Thank you for allowing me to let go... Whenever I feel I need a break from the world, your shala is the first place I run to... and when I’m away, it’s the first place I think of when I practice on my own, miles away. The sound of my breathing alone, takes me back to the exact spot where I place my mat... and I’m fully transported back to the stillness and awareness.
Thank you for giving me a safe place to seek connection & allowing me to breathe... when I’m at my most vulnerable, you’ve made it ok for my tears to roll down my face in Savasana or during a posture, open up and just be me without any judgement.
Thank you for offering so much of yourself to allow me to grow through my practice... Thank you for teaching me the true meaning of yoga, how to practice not only on the mat, but off the mat too... Yoga is a natural state of mind and not whether or not you can touch your toes.
The light in me honors the light in you. Happy New moon

  • I’m still going through the photos I’ve taken during my trip to Menorca. Still can’t believe how beautiful the island is!
  • Last couple of days at work before heading back home 🇱🇧. What are your summer plans? Anything exciting?
  • Your memory feels like home to me.
So whenever my mind wanders, it always finds its way back to you 💫
  • Someone at work asked me the other day what my goals were... I told them to be happy. To be really really really F**** happy. What’s yours?
  • How much time do you spend planning for a trip? I still can’t get over the beautiful sunsets I’ve been lucky to experience on the island. I’ve also written two blog posts on guides to Menorca and what to watch out for prior booking.
I do usually spend a lot of time on research for my trips, months in advance and, for this specific trip, it was a little challenging finding a place to stay that matched what I was exactly looking for.
The search engine that worked well for me was @wegoarabia - as for flights, I didn’t have too many options from Barcelona but it worked out well. I mixed it between hotel stay and private villa stay for my 10 nights. Booked a car and took it really easy at the end!
