A Diary in Goa

Goa has a reputation to be the place to relax, rest, chill and have some good time at the beach, surrounded by nature and close to Dubai.

Where to Stay

We stayed in a cottage; 2 minutes walk from the beach. Being in the North of Goa, in the region of Morjim, next to Ashwem beach. Leela Cottages is a great destination that I highly recommend for lovers of nature, adventurous people that are not looking for the fancy looks of hotels but rather a friendly ambiance, proximity to the beach and excellent service. After an hour and a half driving from the airport, we were greeted and check into our “home” for the few days to come.
All pre-fabricated houses are part of the nature; beautifully surrounded by greenery, trees, etc. The rooms are standard, simple decoration with furniture that is typical and particular to India. The room, equipped with both AC and fan, small refrigerator, table with two chairs and some wardrobe apart from the double bed itself and of course Wi-Fi. A WC that also had the character of the place was linked with few steps down from the room, and a tree in the middle of the bathroom (took me a day to get used to it!). In front of every house was a hammock, a small table with a bench where we used to chill in the afternoons. One of the best parts apart from the dreamy scenery of the Cottage was the breakfast every morning at the restaurant called Elevar that is also known for its amazing food and view on the beach.

Where to eat and things to do in Goa

Anand Seafood Bar & Restaurant – An authentic Goan local restaurant as a first experience great and super spicy experience!

Eat in Gunpowder – Great atmosphere too

Famous Wednesday market in Anjuna Stayed there for several hours shopping (you should bargain at every piece you buy!), we had some beers at a live band bar in the market; and later got surprised at the end of the market when we reached the sea where we chilled and had some time off from the crowd at the market.

Visit Curlies beach – Close to the Flea market to watch the sunset in this rustic beach shack that had great music and super cool atmosphere.

Gunpowder Restaurant –  Dine some delicious Indian wine with squids and some different dishes of prawns.

Take a trip to the South of Goa – The drive was long (3 hours each way) but worth every second; again the views, sceneries were so beautiful and interesting; you could get to see all aspects of Goa. We first went to Agonda Beach chilled for few hours, and then went to Palolem beach; where we stayed for few hours; enjoying owning the beach to ourselves! Palolem beach was my favorite from them all. On our way back we stopped at Donna Paula, a place known for Indian tourists where we stayed to watch the sunset and then went to Go with the flow (my favorite restaurant there) to have a romantic dinner; filled with calamari, shrimps, prawns, salmon, and some really good meat as main dishes.

Have breakfast at Elevar- In front of the beach where we chilled for hours.

Visit Arambol beach – You will love the atmosphere

Go for an adventure – Go with Konkan Explorers in a boat; to do some activities in the river of Chapora.
I highly recommend this to anyone visiting Goa. A couple; Poonam and Pascal own Konkan Explorers with the help of Vinesh on the boat! The team is really welcoming, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and professional.

We had a three hours adventure on their boat where we swam in the super nice temperature of the river; enjoyed the amazing nature surrounding and did some kayaking activities. I cannot describe the feeling of being in the middle of the river; just soaking in everything the nature has to offer.
Dine at La Plage –  A restaurant owned by French people that are in Goa for more than 20 years; which is located just next to Leela Cottage and had some more delicious seafood!

Visit Arpora Night Market –  The experience is totally different from the Wednesday market. In the Arpora Market you have a lot of foreigners artisans as well as locals selling beautiful clothes, souvenirs, bags etc. Music live bands and restaurants are part of this market but also some reserved spaces all around for parties with some different DJs playing different styles of music around the Market itself.

Travel Tips

We decided to go explore the location, which was breathtaking at sunrise. Our driver, Neymar stayed with us the whole trip; taxis in Goa are cheap and it is best to have your driver wait for you all day and book them as your private driver; rather than going through the hassle of not finding a taxi or having to call and wait for hours.

Best time to go

Depending on what is the purpose of your trip (party or relax) the best time is to go between November and April. If you are aiming to relax, chill and have some time on your own in a calm environment then the best time would be from mid February to end of March. During the months of December and January it is usually packed with people, and parties, and the prices go higher automatically. Though it is also a great destination but surely a different experience!

  • I’ve been on the road a lot in Lebanon which has been an adventure on its own! The Infiniti Q30 2.0 has the navigation system with updated maps of Lebanon which made it easier to find my way around. It’s things like this I love the most about returning back here. Endless road trips with friends and despite Lebanon being so small, the adventures are endless! #infinitilebanon #Q30
  • Home sweet home ♥️ Spent the weekend dancing the night away and at the beach during the day!
How was your weekend?? 🇱🇧
  • Compassion is power. Compassion asks us to go where it hurts, to enter into the places of pain, fear and happiness.
Compassion challenges us to cry out with those in misery and to smile with those who are happy. Compassion towards others is what makes me human and it’s a skill that I’ve learned to cultivate. And if you don’t have it, then it would be difficult for me to have you in my life.
So this is a reminder to be good to each other today and to those you don’t know. God knows how many of us need it.
Happy Saturday ♥️
  • Lake Chouwen - Lebanon 🇱🇧
A beautiful reserve, a 45 minutes hike and an adventurous location through Jabal Moussa! I even drove through the tiniest road into the mountains and was freaking out but made it through thanks to my co-pilot :)!
Lebanon is filled and surrounded with beautiful nature. 🇱🇧
Had an incredible day exploring Lebanon with @ramimansourr @mikhaelbitar @sarahdibrahim @abbas_kalel
  • Lebanon’s morning activities are filled with daily road trips across the mountains and the coast with close friends. Stopping by historical landmarks and eating the best zaatar in small villages. It also helps when your #infiniti car has BOSE sound-system 😊
Happy Tuesday everyone! 🇱🇧♥️ #Q30 #infinitilebanon
  • Good morning from home in Lebanon in Beit Douma. I can’t tell you how happy I am to be back in Lebanon!!! Have you ever been?

I’ve added an article on a guide to 9 guesthouses in Lebanon, you can click the link in my bio.
  • There really isn’t any better way to sail across Madeira Island than with Pedro and his gang! @rotadoscetaceos2016 We saw whales and swam with wild dolphins!!!! We jumped in the (freezing) Atlantic sea and went diving and discovered the most beautiful island 🌴 Now it’s your turn to go!
  • A beautiful slow morning in Madeira 🌴
Isn’t it beautiful?
  • I believe in giving people time...Time to process the good and the bad because there is something so beautiful about unforced bonds.
I’m a forever kind of person. I don’t have room for temporary. I believe in big love, of growing old with your friends and soulmates. I believe in being there for people through thick and thin. I believe in not giving up when things get tough. I believe in relationships that can make it through everything.
  • It was sunny and we were heading to the pool in Lisbon when all of a sudden a little rain cloud passed and so decided to just walk out and get some pastel de nata 😊
  • Today, my mind is like a laptop set up.
I have 20 tabs open, 4 of them are frozen and I have no idea where the music is coming from... 🤷🏼‍♀️ Dreaming of going back to Madeira 🌴
  • Madeira Island is home to Europe's tallest sea cliff- more than 1,900 feet above sea level. The Madeira Archipelago is located in the Atlantic Ocean, in the African plate.
Before my trip to Madeira, some people told me I only need 3-4 days to tour the island. It’s far from the truth and I’m glad I didn’t listen to them! It’s been a week here and there is still so much I feel I haven’t explored yet!! Would you visit Madeira Island? 🇵🇹
