Crossing boarders with Visa Middle EastLike0

Everywhere you want to be.

That’s really something to think about.

If I could list the places of everywhere I wanted or want to be… it could maybe take a lifetime.

Not too long ago, I got approached by Visa to team up with them and use Travel Junkie Diary as a platform to showcase everyone’s travel images and experiences. The campaign is build around to focus on real people across the world, travelers planning their journey, those who are already experiencing the exhilarating moments abroad and those who have just returned and possibly planning another one.

Travelers, dreamers and those who just really want to share with others their experience. It’s about real life and that is why I jumped to the opportunity to work with Visa Middle East. Visa is everywhere you want to be.

#NotATourist was born for the lovers of hidden gems. In whatever part of the world you are. Crossing boarders, the little places that make it special. What you deserve and what you can afford. #NotATourist could be your luxury moment or your hipster lifestyle, the road less traveled.

The NotATourist campaign is designed to inspire travel beyond the regular tourist sites to savour truly local experiences that are the essence of making a destination unique. The campaign is poised to help travellers explore destinations as local inhabitants – not as tourists – by providing local knowledge using crowdsourced digital content that is showcased on Visa’s NotATourist website and the Visa Explore mobile app. NotATourist also offers travellers a platform to describe the many facets of a destination by sharing their own images, videos, posts and comments, making them ambassadors or tour guides of their favourite travel spots.

When? For two months. I invite you to show me YOUR travel place. Your diary. Your experience on instagram or twitter, using the hashtag #NotATourist

Some articles will also contain #NotATourist tips you share, advices, locations etc.

How? Your #NotATourist moment, naming the location and using #NotATourist anywhere in the world!! Whether its your safe place, a fun place, a happy place, where you first fell in love and even where your favorite memory is. #NotATourist is a personal moment and I would love you to share it with me. Crossing boarders with Visa Middle East

Your #NotATourist moment could also be picked on our next Travel With TJD.

Your everywhere can be your wildest dream. Your everywhere is not a place on any map. So, Let’s share and grow the community in 2 months!

Visa Middle East also promised that we could give away $500 worth of visa cards, travel packages worth $5000.

Share tips, locations, favorite places, favorite moments!

Stay in touch and let’s do this together, let’s cross borders and share suggestion that’s off the beaten path!

With Love,

Michelle

  • From where I drone 🚁 - Beautiful Mauritius 🇲🇺
  • My childhood friend of 30 years took this picture of me last week when we drove to Bekaa Valley in Lebanon. We’ve been friends for so long I can’t remember which one of us is the bad influence 😂. It was so random because she kept on insisting that I don’t turn away from the camera and I couldn’t stop laughing before a bee almost attacked me!! So there you go. Happy Tuesday 🇱🇧♥️
  • Ever been to Croatia? What does this place reminds you of?
  • I had a chance to get away into Bekaa Valley. From the 1st century BC, when the region was part of the Roman Empire, the Beqaa Valley served as a source of grain for the Roman provinces. I took Chloè and stayed in a lovely cozy guest house called @al_haush and explored the fields of crops and vineyards. 🇱🇧 I’m so in love with Lebanon 🇱🇧
  • I found this little lake by mistake on the way to Bekaa Valley. I was surprised given that it was in the middle of nowhere and the water was blue and cold! Where would you suggest I explore more in Lebanon? 🇱🇧 #Q30 #infinitilebanon
  • Some of the greatest sky colors I’ve seen were in Portugal 🇵🇹 Sunset views from @avanilisbonhotel ♥️
Have you been to Lisbon yet?
  • Sunday morning dreaming of being back in Maldives! I’d like to be transported right now!
This would be my super power wish for the day. 😊
What would yours be today?
  • It’s the weekend!!! 🇱🇧🇱🇧 Breakfast table at home in Beit Douma prepared by @kamalmouzawak ♥️
What’s your favorite thing on the table?
  • You know what’s the most beautiful feeling in the world? Knowing that both your presence and absence mean something to someone. ♥️
  • The ancient Phoenician wall in Batroun , Lebanon between (3,300 B.C. to 64 B.C.)
Batroun was once one of the most important Phoenician cities in the region and is one of the oldest cities in the world! It is by far, one of my favorite places in Lebanon 🇱🇧
It was super windy that day but I managed to get few shots on my drone until the battery ran out on me while flying!!! I honestly have no idea how it just landed inside the church walls on its own and not in the water!! 😊
  • Faqra ruins, an archaeological site in Kfardebian, Lebanon, with Roman and Byzantine ruins. It’s one of the most important sites of the UNESCO sites. 🇱🇧 I didn’t know which picture to share so I posted both 😊

  • Northeast of Lebanon, in between the alleys in the old souk of one of the most historical places on earth, Byblos. 🇱🇧
