Do you need a holiday?

Do you need a holiday?Like0

There is a thin line of being on a break and taking a break.

Taking time off does not necessarily mean ‘I am going to jump on the next flight and head out to the Caribbean or some off beat track’. Having a break, to me at least, means I need to feel human again. I need to let go of my daily routine and ‘job’ as a mother, wife and business owner and be… just me, in this relentless life where I don’t belong to myself anymore because of deadlines, responsibilities and fast pace life. To take time off, not to put my feet up or have a long bath but to think of my own self and to love myself. Needing a break isn’t the same as wanting a vacation or a holiday (or being on a break). We’ve all been there, returning back from holidays needing another one. I invited one of my good friend not too long ago to come on vacation/holiday with me and her kids to tag along with us. She told me for a moment there, the spontaneous plan made her feel human again (as being a parent almost made her forget) but she will still probably need a break from that holiday after. Which one do you need? Do you need a holiday or do you need to take a break? In any case, don’t forget to listen to what your heart and body needs. They are all you got.

You know you need to take a holiday if…

All you can think of is flying

All you want to do is get on that plane anywhere, wherever it takes you. Then you do need to go on many holidays!

You have an urge to learn a new language and culture

Almost 90% of travelers go to explore, to learn, to try new languages and eat different cuisines. Depending how adventurous you are!

You are looking to make new friends

Most of the time, that’s what its all about. Meeting locals and learning about their culture. Traveling is a wonderful tool in making the greatest memories and the best friends!

Your last flight was 6 months ago

Book that flight or drive that car away! Any where! Even for 2 days.

You are craving for an adventure

Those who love climbing mountains, hiking, sailing or any activities even cycling get that urge to be back on a mountain, in the water, on the road… That feeling makes you alive. So once you start feeling tired and your body confuses your mind to exhaustion or feeling you need a break… you actually need to be back on a new adventure because that only means you get to live and not just survive!

You want to try something new

You know that feeling of something missing or a sinking heart? That is the feeling of missing something new. Go on a holiday and try to find your new thing. Something memorable you can always keep with you. Even if it’s the smallest thing like a magnet. You deserve it!

  • It’s a fact that I struggle with words often face to face, because strong feelings can all be inside me but only left for me to feel them... It is not that the meaning cannot be explained... But there are certain meanings that are lost the moment they are explained in words, and that’s how, without any pressure, I’ve learned to take it all in... 💫
  • Are you a beach villa or a water-villa person?
Each water villa at @joalimaldives has a 35sqm pool (Apart from the ocean residence which have two pools like this one!)
Happy Sunday from the happiest island! ♥️
  • A wish you were here kind of day 💫
@joalimaldives
  • Maldives is a beautiful paradise but has a fragile ecosystem that plays a role to keep the magic alive. The construction at JOALI Maldives @joalimaldives was designed to build around the trees, to save as many as possible. They saved over 1000 trees and work so passionately on sustainability. 🐠 It’s very close to my heart that we constantly support and value our ocean especially the marine life ♥️
  • I love to introduce you to JOALI Maldives. @joalimaldives
A brand new island that stands out because it has built its’ whole identity on ‘Joie de vivre’ which constitutes the art of living... really, truly living life, embracing it fully. Whether you call it living in the moment, or self fulfillment, joie de vivre is a quality and a feeling we can all learn to acquire. Say hello to the beautiful and unique @joalimaldives
  • It’s just who she is, a little entertainer, especially when I ask her to look at the camera so we can take a ‘subtle’ shot... but nope, instead, she breaks into her dance moves and I thought... why the hell not... and just took the picture. ♥️
  • One of the most beautiful places I’ve been to, Madeira Island 🌴 - An Island 2 hours away from Lisbon by plane! Have you ever been?
  • A year ago today I was in Cambodia 🇰🇭 💫
So much growth from where I was and where I am today, but I’ll always remember where I started.
I’m curious to know, which was the first photograph you remember of me since you started following my journey?
  • A new week in the UAE and my last before being back on the road! It’s been a great break from flying but I think I’m ready to get back out there with my camera!
Happy Sunday everyone! Kick ass in whatever you are doing today! ♥️
  • Who is coming with me!? We just released new dates for @travelwithtjd for 2019 and I am overwhelmed with your responses!! There is a power in disconnection and I find it right here! I now count the days to go back to Finland and everywhere in Scandinavia.
Click the link in bio and join our Adventure Travel Movement in Finland in March 2019! Spaces are very limited 😊 and it’s an adventure of a lifetime in the most authentic way!! ♥️
  • Dubai still super hot but nothing a weekend at the pool won’t fix! It’s still summer here with 40 degrees Celsius... What’s the weather like where you are?
  • Counting down for our next @travelwithtjd group adventure trip this October! #TravelwithTJD
It feels like ages ago when @dennisstever and I went sailing in the Arctic in May to experience the midnight sun and I remember it was still a little chilly!! I remember having to change into that red dress for the picture because we thought it was a good idea! 😂
I can guarantee you that I froze! The white sand and the rocks were undeniably cold and Dennis was having a laugh while taking the picture!! You can even see the ripple effect on the water!
Have you ever ‘froze’ for a picture? 😊

Thank you @dennisstever for the 📷 and @pukkatravels for the love!
