Finding Zen at Le Royal Hotels & ResortsLike0

I’m no charlatan and especially when it comes to a particular stay in Lebanon. They say location is everything, but have we forgotten to ask, what are we looking for? We’re usually so fast in following the trendy sites or ‘the center’ of things in cities. I say my center is where I’m close to the beach and not the shopping district. My center is where (at that moment) I needed to be and somewhere I can utilize the full potential of being in Zen at a spa therapy. I needed to find a place in Lebanon away from the busy street life, away from traffic and somewhere close to the sea and at an award winning spa. I found that in Finding Zen at Le Royal Hotels & Resorts and as part of The Leading Hotels in The World, the property itself over met the expectations of a 5 star hotel in Lebanon as to maintenance standards and keeping the hotel looking brand new.

First Impression

A towering hilltop overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, you can’t miss it if you are going away from Beirut towards the highway to Jounieh.

The Spa

The Royal SPA, spread over three levels and 3,500 m2 of space with a panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea, an indoor swimming pool, indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis, sauna, mud bath and Turkish bath, aerobics classes, personal training, squash, and tennis, in addition to many unique SPA treatments is the highlight of my trip. An award winning spa that I had the chance to visit once before in 2009 and today. Unlike Lebanese politics, the spa and property has accelerated and emerged in a strong way.

During my stay, I was prepping for a 14 day detox diet with Kay Bodanza in Dubai in the American Academy of Cosmic Surgery Hospital in Dubai. So I need a place where I could experience the greatest spa treatments. I’ve received an email from Le Royal mentioning that they have started a wellness month focusing on all things related to detox programs, drinks and food, so it was natural for me to book the 3 nights in Le Royal Hotels and Resorts

The Iyashi Dôme

The Iyashi Dôme concept: the Japanese technology that purifies and shapes your silhouette by restoring balance and youth to your body. For centuries, the Japanese would bury themselves in hot sand to purify the body and eliminate toxins.
The heat (Far Infrared Rays) emitted by the sun warmed the sand giving it precious helaing properties for the body.
This tradition is carried our today through the Far Infrared Technology by the Iyashi Dôme.

The Benefits it claims to have:

REGENERATE
• Reduce the appearance of wrinkles and moisturize your skin • Improve skin density and radiance
• Improve skin elasticity and firmness • Improve skin hydration of the face and body

PURIFY
• Detoxify and cleanse your body at the deepest level • Restore balance to your body
• Relaxation and Stress elimination • Sports preparation and recovery
• Better quality of sleep

SLIM
• Shape and slim your silhouette • Weight re-balancing action
• Drop 1 to 2 dress sizes • Lose body fat
• Reduce appearance of Cellulite

As a treatment, it does lots of things to the body but I was more interested in the detoxification before my program. It restores balance to you body and inner wellbeing •    Relaxation and Stress elimination •    Allows a better Sports preparation and recovery •    Better quality of sleep – As a traveler, I needed to believe that could work.

How I felt?

During the treatment, a therapist explained to me the benefits and answered any questions I had. Was it hot? YES! but not to a point where I was uncomfortable, it actually felt nice since I feel during my trips I need a boost of blood circulation. After the treatment, I was glad it happened. I did not experience any life alter changing moments, but I did feel I have sweated off some toxins. Treatment is done in a minimum of 4 sessions to feel the difference.

The Rooms

Simplified to the very best and very well maintained with the greatest comfort and view of the sea.

 Location

There is a reason I would pick the other side of Beirut over and over again. I love peace. I search for peace. I tend to stay away from the city life as much as possible, if possible. Le Royal is in between highways facing the Mediterranean sea and to me, one of my favorite locations because I am so used to being in Lebanon by the sea away from the city life. If Beirut city life is what you need but away from traffic, then the hotel is a perfect 15 minutes drive to downtown Beirut.

Food and Restaurants

During my stay, I was fortunate enough to have been around the same time they have started a wellness month. A homemade juice with lemongrass for detox and dried fruit pastries was the cherry on top of my preparations for my detoxing program when back in Dubai.

The international Le Jardin du Royal, the Titanic piano bar and the Lobby Bar. In winter, the Sunday buffets are everyone’s favorites, while in summer, the Barbecue nights by the pool are popular with the in-crowds.

The popular water gate is open to kids all ages and what makes this a great family stay. I have not yet brought Chloe to the park, but in summer, I can’t wait to visit! • A huge shift in my energy today as I start working on our next @travelwithtjd - Scandic countries holds an exhilarating amount of joy and peace in my heart, which I’ve learned not to search anymore for reasons to explain it, because some things cannot always be expressed in words.
We have recently launched Sweden’s Arctic experience on @travelwithtjd other than Finland, Iceland and Norway. The link is in bio if you like to join our polar journeys and have an adventure of a lifetime. Only 2 spaces left for Sweden. Hope to see you on our TJD trips!

  • Sunrise view from my room facing the Athenian Riviera from @fsathens from Arion side of the building which is more laidback.
I have to admit though, it’s good to be back home and back to a routine. I tend to pick up emotions from the people and environment around me, and from time to time, it’s good to be grounded. Thank you Four Seasons for a wonderful experience and congratulations on the opening! ❤️
  • It was 18 degrees at the most one morning, and the sun was shining. Jumped on a @fsathens boat and sailed to visit the Poseidon Temple and an afternoon lunch at hidden gem by the sea with the sweetest people. I love being on boats and grew very fond on them since I was very little. ❤️
  • I was lucky enough to have had 3 sunny days in Athens before the weather turned into beautiful rain. It was a great weekend celebrating @fsathens opening. This is one of the pools at sunset from Nafsika side with private cabanas on the sides. That’s my weekend, how was yours? ☀️
  • I landed in Athens couple of days ago to celebrate the opening of @fsathens - Four Seasons Hotel Astir Palace Hotel Athens is a luxury escape resting on a peninsula along the Athens Riviera, just 30-minutes from the historic city centre.
I ALWAYS love coming back to Greece 🇬🇷
  • I’m caption-less this morning. Might be because my mind is either overloaded or too relaxed, does this happen to you? 😊 - but here is @joalimaldives from where I drone. Happy Thursday everyone!
  • Back in Dubai for 24 hours and summer has already begun here and there is no way I can manage to have Charlie look at the camera!! My summer plans are getting together and with a little inspiration from @theitalianwayuae we are adding Italy’s coast on our itinerary as well! #TheItalianWay
What are your summer plans?
  • Located on Muravandhoo island on the Raa Atoll in the northern Maldives, @joalimaldives celebrates the ‘Joie De Vivre’ ... the joy of living, the joy of everything ❤️
  • You’ve got to find that soul friend... You’ve got to find that person. I’ve always truly believed that.
Those which answers to these questions—does our friendship feel easy? Am I better for knowing this person? Do they help me become closer to the person I ultimately want to be? Can we be quiet together for a long time? That's the person I want to be be forever friends with. That's my soul person. Do you have yours? 💫
  • I’ve traded my snow gear to flip flops! I’m always happy to be back at @joalimaldives and since the pre-opening, it has flourished so much and the island has come alive! I’m always impressed with the incredible work they do here in attempts to save the marine life, the co-operation they do for the local islands and the incredible staff that has become good friends of mine now! ❤️
How gorgeous is this overwater villa?
  • It’s been a challenging week and the year is passing way too quick!! I’ve already started planning my summer vacation which I’m so ready for and setting new adventures for winter journeys in the arctic on @travelwithtjd - But, Portugal is always a returning choice for me this summer, especially Madeira Island.
What are your summer plans?
  • I was looking back at some of the memories I’ve made in the past. Everyone say don’t look back... but I always do and smile.
I look back when we say goodbye at the airport, at old beautiful memories and it’s always beautiful to see what an incredible life I’ve built. Here is a memory of Kenya 3 years ago where I spent 2 nights at Giraffe Manor and woke up at the break of dawn, looking outside my window, and saw these beautiful creatures staring right back at me. 😊 Do you ever look back?
