We are in Thailand with Jessy S, a senior Art Director at Y2M, a social media expert, moonlight photographer. Typos are her trade mark and believes in unicorns and prays to booza! ( Ice cream). A bittersweet relationship between us and love her to pieces. Loved by so many and a down to earth person where anything really can make her day!

Here is her diary

Destination Koh Phangan – Thailand

It felt like home away from home

Stayed at Hillside Bungalows & Restaurant

It was perfect. It had a comfortable bed, a fridge , bathroom and AC unit, but most importantly, I had my own hammock.
It was more than what i needed. Staff was very friendly. It was clean. I had to provide my own toiletry but that’s fine because i usually travel with my own shampoo and stuff. I felt quiet safe although it was easy accessible from the street. It’s perfectly located in Haad Rin just far enough away from the full moon party that you can get to sleep when you want. The AC noise was a little bit of a nuisance.

Month October – light showers but warm weather.

In your suitcase I carried a backpack that was also a trolly. Didn’t want the hassle of waiting for my suitcase. I packed 2 pairs of shorts from H&M. 5 tank tops. my havaianas flip flops, a couple of bathing suits and a pretty blue dress from forever 21. of course the essentials such us underwear and toiletries. But the only jewellery I wore, was a waterproof swatch watch that priced at only AED 150. I wore a pair of jeans, converse T-shirt and my trustworthy Adidas hoody for the flights. The idea was to travel light and just in-case I lost something or got robbed, I wouldn’t lose anything of real value. Except for my Samsung S2, which ironically fell in the water on the beach.

Dined at My Favorite place was Eden Garden in Haad Tian. a 15 min boat taxi (for 150 B) from Haad Rin beach along the coast to the side of the island. It served a mixture of international and Thai food, but the reason I fell in love with it was because of the location and view. A 10 min hike up the cliff and you literally find yourself in the garden of Eden.  Stunning view and very relaxing music. As far as food goes, I recommend you try the coconut milkshakes from anywhere. Not a day went by that I didn’t inhale at least 2 cups of the organic goodness.

Shopped  Haad Rin isn’t very known for it’s shopping. Every where you go it’s the same thing. All little stores are packed with bright neon t-shirt they sell for the full moon party that goes on at the beach.

Diary My journey started at the office. I was chatting with a friend of mine who was going from Bangkok to koh phangan. Expressing to him how badly I needed to get away from the world for a few days. All he said was “come to Thailand” after the fifth “come to Thailand” I had called my travel agent, booked the flight, got my leave approval , went to the embassy (twice) and 5 days later, I was on my way to Thailand to meet up with a group of 7 friends.
The journey took me about 16 hours, it was the first time I traveled on my own with so many different transportation methods. Two flights, a ferry , 2 pick up trucks and a conversion with a lovely yoga instructor later I finally made it to Sarikantang Resort And Spa where 4 of the 7 were staying, also a very nice hotel but more upscale that my b&b.
We were a gallant group of 8 people. we were surprisingly  well organized. I think it had a lot to do with the fact that we were all just easy going and relaxed. We did a lot of walking but hardly even felt the distance.
Believe it or not I only went swimming once. We spent most of the time checking out sites, temples, cafes and hang out spots.

Tips 1) Eat as many island fruits as you can even if it’s in juice style. 2) Bring along one of those long shoulder bags that you can put to the side to carry things. chances are you won’t be going back to the hotel for a while. 3)Don’t bring too many things with you, anything you need you can buy from there for cheap.
4) invest n a pair of comfy Thai pants once you get there. 5) Always double check for the Adam’s apple if you plan on getting a massage, you can never tell.

Mode of travel Emirates Airlines to Bangkok and then Thai Airways to Koh Samui  and a ferry to Koh Phangan.

  • Soneva Fushi is an Island that celebrates the natural environment. The first sustainable luxury hotel in Maldives since 1995, creating a positive impact on Baa Atoll and the neighboring islands. I was proud and happy to be part of the island and learn so much more about sustainability travel. @discoversoneva
  • Hello winter in Dubai. Back here for a couple of days and rushing through the week before I take off again. I was fortunate enough to have met and worked with @zeebalife who I quickly ‘clicked’ with the moment we started chatting earlier this year. I don’t ‘click’ very easily I must admit... and I’m very much in my own bubble... and that’s ok... so when I do, I hang on to them because it just works without any effort. And it’s the best kind of friendship. Happy Sunday! #MyDubai
  • Just because she let go... doesn’t mean she wanted to... 💫
  • Let’s take a ride to the spa together 🌴 @fsmaldives
  • Droning isn’t always easy in Maldives especially when you see seaplanes crossing and guest worrying about their full right privacy. But at sunrise, when everyone is still asleep, and when the jets are no where close by, you can always fly really quick and capture the beauty of the island - ❤️🌴 @fsmaldives
  • I am drawn to your imperfections. I am drawn to shared interests and hobbies in people. I am drawn to the light in your eyes when you talk about something you love. I am drawn to your success and to your failures and most of all your challenges. I am drawn to every non-perfect side of you, because otherwise, everything will be lifeless.
  • How long can you stay in Maldives? For me, I think I can do about two weeks and never get bored, even on rainy days! @fsmaldives
  • From where she drones from @fsmaldives Who said a 5 year old couldn’t use a drone haven’t met Chloè 😊
  • Sometimes, unexpected friendships are the best 💫 - Sunny, @saltysun__ the surf manager at @discoversoneva has started a sustainability surfing programme - one of its kind in Maldives. So when she told me let’s go out at sea in the pouring rain with crazy winds, I just knew we would be friends instantly! I can’t begin to describe how much I adore the sea and what it means to me. I’m in my element. ❤️
  • A wish you were here kind of moment 😊
@discoversoneva
  • Touchdown back to my favorite place... Maldives.
Getting involved in our ocean conservation efforts by the marine biologist at @discoversoneva and the sustainability programme they are working on, for example, the Soneva Ocean Stewards (SOS) programme has taught hundreds of children how to swim and encourages the local community to appreciate the precious marine ecosystem surrounding them.
  • The year is almost over - flew by so quick at times and times it passed too slow!! This was shot in January early this year. I have a good feeling about 2018 despite 2017 being a little challenging. What are your Christmas plans? I’m spending it in Lebanon with family and friends, what about you?
