We are in Dallas with one of the sweetest and friendliest person we know and love, Natalya Kanj, Sub-Editor for Five Five Fabulous. A fashion blog between two sisters who continue to document their fabulous journey through fashion between their favorite cities, London & Dubai.

Graduated from London College of Fashion in June 2012, Natalya has since fully immersed herself in the world of interning with top tier fashion houses.

She gained vast work experience at Diane Von Furstenberg, LCF and Myla to name a few and has reaped the rewards by landing her dream job, working in the HQ of a luxury British brand. She frequently travels between London, Paris and Dubai to fulfill her newly appointed role. This TJ is such a diva when it comes down to travel, we were as surprise and excited to hear about where she chose her favorite destination so far!

Here is her diary

Destination Dallas, Texas

Stayed at The Joule hotel, downtown

I stayed in a suite, it was incredible. I arrived late at night so I went straight to the hotel and checked in, the service couldn’t have been better. Once I got up to my room I noticed that there was a separate bathroom to where you shower with frosted glass everywhere. The room was super high tech, there was one remote that did everything for you.

Month March

In your suitcase I was in Dallas for work but luckily I can wear whatever I want seeing as I work in fashion. Before I headed to the U.S, I was quite confused over what to pack as I knew it was going to be freezing in NYC and hot in Dallas. I packed everything from my Steve Madden studded boots to keep me warm to my Chanel espadrilles for when I was in Dallas.

Dined at On my last night I went back to Highland Park and had dinner at a Mexican restaurant. I sat outside again so I could take in all the heat before I left to go back to freezing cold London. The food was fabulous, I ate way too many nachos and to start with and then had chicken enchiladas  I drank jalapeno infused margaritas as they were highly recommended by the waiter. On one other evening, I also went downstairs to have some dinner at Charlie Palmer, I opted for the salmon, it was the most incredible salmon I’ve ever had and the service was impeccable.

Shopped Highland Park had every shop you could think of, I did too much shopping in New York so whilst I was there I didn’t buy much. I did spend around an hour in Christian Louboutin coveting some patent pink stilettos, they were to die for.

Diary  When I woke up the next day the weather was perfectly warm, I had breakfast on the terrace downstairs. I wanted to relax before my appointment so I was driven to Highland Park. This was the ultimate shopping destination, it had every store you could think of from Jimmy Choo to Scoop. It was all outside and music played through speakers as you strolled from shop to shop. I then had lunch outside in a lovely courtyard, this time I had scallops. I then shopped a little before heading back to my hotel.

Tips Visit Reunion Tower observation area, the fair park, the aquarium and the historical Swiss Avenue and their Victorian houses

Mode of travel Emirates to NYC then Delta Airlines to Dallas

  • Soneva Fushi is an Island that celebrates the natural environment. The first sustainable luxury hotel in Maldives since 1995, creating a positive impact on Baa Atoll and the neighboring islands. I was proud and happy to be part of the island and learn so much more about sustainability travel. @discoversoneva
  • Hello winter in Dubai. Back here for a couple of days and rushing through the week before I take off again. I was fortunate enough to have met and worked with @zeebalife who I quickly ‘clicked’ with the moment we started chatting earlier this year. I don’t ‘click’ very easily I must admit... and I’m very much in my own bubble... and that’s ok... so when I do, I hang on to them because it just works without any effort. And it’s the best kind of friendship. Happy Sunday! #MyDubai
  • Just because she let go... doesn’t mean she wanted to... 💫
  • Let’s take a ride to the spa together 🌴 @fsmaldives
  • Droning isn’t always easy in Maldives especially when you see seaplanes crossing and guest worrying about their full right privacy. But at sunrise, when everyone is still asleep, and when the jets are no where close by, you can always fly really quick and capture the beauty of the island - ❤️🌴 @fsmaldives
  • I am drawn to your imperfections. I am drawn to shared interests and hobbies in people. I am drawn to the light in your eyes when you talk about something you love. I am drawn to your success and to your failures and most of all your challenges. I am drawn to every non-perfect side of you, because otherwise, everything will be lifeless.
  • How long can you stay in Maldives? For me, I think I can do about two weeks and never get bored, even on rainy days! @fsmaldives
  • From where she drones from @fsmaldives Who said a 5 year old couldn’t use a drone haven’t met Chloè 😊
  • Sometimes, unexpected friendships are the best 💫 - Sunny, @saltysun__ the surf manager at @discoversoneva has started a sustainability surfing programme - one of its kind in Maldives. So when she told me let’s go out at sea in the pouring rain with crazy winds, I just knew we would be friends instantly! I can’t begin to describe how much I adore the sea and what it means to me. I’m in my element. ❤️
  • A wish you were here kind of moment 😊
@discoversoneva
  • Touchdown back to my favorite place... Maldives.
Getting involved in our ocean conservation efforts by the marine biologist at @discoversoneva and the sustainability programme they are working on, for example, the Soneva Ocean Stewards (SOS) programme has taught hundreds of children how to swim and encourages the local community to appreciate the precious marine ecosystem surrounding them.
  • The year is almost over - flew by so quick at times and times it passed too slow!! This was shot in January early this year. I have a good feeling about 2018 despite 2017 being a little challenging. What are your Christmas plans? I’m spending it in Lebanon with family and friends, what about you?
