Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens

On the sophisticated Athens Riviera

in Greece

The Four Seasons's Brand New Opening

The Four Seasons has just opened in the most luxurious part of Athens, in the Athenian Riviera, a new era for the global brand Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel with many of its people and staff from local islands and from the capital, transforming this majestic hotel and bringing it back to its Greek authenticity.

I arrived on the 3pm flight from Dubai to Athens and was welcomed by my private chauffeur limousine who gave me the run down on the many reasons to fall in love with Athens. From crystal clear beaches, Historical sites, food, culture and the Arts.

30 minutes to the hotel went by so fast, as I was checked into my room at the Arion building, room 101, facing the breathtaking Athenian Riviera with the pool. It is much more laid-back on this side and it was definitely a preference for me since I was traveling alone.

I was invited to celebrate the opening of the former Astir Palace Hotel, now Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel 30 hectares of lush seaside landscape on the shores of the Athenian Riviera and the first Four Seasons Hotel in Greece with hotel veteran, Sam Ioannidis, General Manager, who returned back to his roots, has a great reputation of establishing a new hotel and successfully bringing it to life while embracing the local community.

I spent my 3 days exploring (almost) every aspect of the hotel, the restaurants, the spa and took a boat trip on the Athenian Riviera to the Poseidon Temple where we climbed to the top and back down, where we had a quintessential Greek lunch by the sea.

One of the 3 swimming pools. This particular view is from Arion building which is more laid-back

Getting There

It was an easy four and a half hour flight with EK from Dubai to Athens. Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel in Athens is located on a peninsula just 30 minutes from the city centre and a half hour from Athens International Airport, Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel is the ideal choice for travellers who want to experience the best of ancient and modern Greece, weekenders from Athens or the region, families looking for a holiday that can be both educational and fun, and of course, couples who want to explore one of the world’s most romantic destinations.

The hotel sent a private transfer for me, which of course, like every Four Season Hotel, has wifi in the car so you don’t have any fear of being disconnected!

  • I’ve been in limbo with my photography and experiencing some sort of a creative block.
The digital world can either inspire you or exhaust you from repeatedly the same quotes, topic of conversations, images, style, colors, places, food etc.
I’ve promised myself since the very start, not to fall into a trap of measuring & using my passion for photography based on the number of likes and comments on Instagram, but instead, to shoot, post, open my heart and soul through challenging myself to be more creative through my lens and be more of myself, in between dreams and reality and most importantly, for the feeling to be real...
As creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes, Art is knowing which ones to keep... So bare with me a little until I find myself again...
  • The trips we host on @travelwithtjd on our polar journeys for the past years has been one of the most exciting experiences of my life and I’m so incredibly grateful for everything I’ve learned, experiences, felt, seen and for the people I’ve met on our trips!
Our season starts this September with different groups traveling with @dennisstever and I to Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Finland!
We have also released our travel dates for 2020 and with new destinations too and new experiences. I hope you can join us!! Click the link in my bio to learn more or follow @travelwithtjd for updates!
  • Lebanon in summer is all about exploring. Found this new hip beach bar on the coast of Byblos. The graffiti on the wall, the hanging hammocks in the water and the vibe, makes this place one of the cutest beach clubs I’ve seen so far. I love my beautiful home 🇱🇧
  • The last time I switched my laptop on was 5 days ago. The last time that happened was exactly a year ago. My phone is most of the time misplaced far away from me, my camera is still in my bag, my mind is switched off and I’m surrounded with love 💕and music 🎶. So happy to be back in Lebanon on my official summer break.
  • Home sweetest home ❤️
  • I love the the 3 AM version of people... Honest, vulnerable and real.
  • I have some sort of mental block this morning... which is a good thing so... Happy Thursday ☀️
  • This is a (long) thank you post... To my teachers.
Thank you for showing me my true strength... Not only physical strength, but more importantly mental strength.
Thank you for allowing me to let go... Whenever I feel I need a break from the world, your shala is the first place I run to... and when I’m away, it’s the first place I think of when I practice on my own, miles away. The sound of my breathing alone, takes me back to the exact spot where I place my mat... and I’m fully transported back to the stillness and awareness.
Thank you for giving me a safe place to seek connection & allowing me to breathe... when I’m at my most vulnerable, you’ve made it ok for my tears to roll down my face in Savasana or during a posture, open up and just be me without any judgement.
Thank you for offering so much of yourself to allow me to grow through my practice... Thank you for teaching me the true meaning of yoga, how to practice not only on the mat, but off the mat too... Yoga is a natural state of mind and not whether or not you can touch your toes.
The light in me honors the light in you. Happy New moon

  • I’m still going through the photos I’ve taken during my trip to Menorca. Still can’t believe how beautiful the island is!
  • Last couple of days at work before heading back home 🇱🇧. What are your summer plans? Anything exciting?
  • Your memory feels like home to me.
So whenever my mind wanders, it always finds its way back to you 💫
  • Someone at work asked me the other day what my goals were... I told them to be happy. To be really really really F**** happy. What’s yours?
