It’s common for this article to be a visual one. What differentiates each hotel to the other? Price, location, activities, child friendly (or not) and food. Of-course, picking the room category in Maldives is probably your toughest choice. You always opt for a water villa just because well, you ARE in Maldives. But that doesn’t mean the beach front aren’t as good. It just means its a whole new experience. Both equally new. We took a very short trip to have a look at Sheraton Maldives Full Moon in Furanafushi Island, North Malé Atoll. A little piece of heaven with excellent services and a heart warming welcome.

Rooms
One morning, we took a tour around the hotel and around the 6 categories of room with 156 rooms in total. A wide choice of cottages, water villas, water bungalows, club water bungalows and ocean pool villas. Each room offering a different new experience. We stayed at the water bungalows that has direct access to the water below you. Starting price at $444 a night!
Traveling with little children or a family with kids, it’s always advisable to book the front beach villa which is facing the beach.
Location & Transportation
An easy 15 minutes ride by speed boat from Male airport, (6km from airport). We were greeted at the Sheraton Desk representative. It all felt so familiar but always different when you experience it with another hotel. Our bags were uploaded onto the boat and we took off.
Hotel Features
The Sheraton Maldives Full Moon resort is a fabulous choice for those who don’t want to travel too far away from Male. Reason being perhaps of fear of flying in small propeller planes. We were immediately escorted to our rooms and were upgraded to a water bungalow. It was fabulous and a great way to start exploring the hotel!
We spent our mornings by the pool but ended up snorkeling every day after breakfast, with or without rain. It didn’t make a difference to us. Maldives is beautiful this way. The hotel is enclosed with wonderful corals that made it possible to go snorkeling anytime right under our room.
The resort also offers various cuisines through their varied restaurants from fine dining to quick bites at the beach, not to forget their anchorage bar and the beautiful sunset that you can watch from there.
We took a buggy and had a tour of the hotel and even crossed the other island to visit the spa.
Water sports activities, excursions that include dolphin watching, island escape, sport fishing and a visit to Male. Make sure you plan and book ahead. The kids club ( Younger guests—ages 4 to 12 with babysitting available at a fee) and if you are a Sheraton Club member you get access to the club lounge with stunning infinity pool and SPG platinum’s are well taken of here! The Sheraton fitness center is open 24 hours, a fresh water swimming pool.
Internet is available at $23 a day in the rooms and free of charge in the lobby area.
Shine Spa for Sheraton
From 9am to 10pm, the spa is perfect to spend an hour or 3! There are plenty of choices from body treatments to facials, massages and couples packages. We spent one morning there and had to try their treatments! That’s the beauty of being in Maldives, you could opt for the perfect spa treatments whilst it rains for 90 minutes a day! So, to top it all, u can never leave the Maldives without an indulging spa, where you get to enjoy the sauna and their relaxation pool followed by a 45 minutes stress relief massage focusing on the back and neck after which you are left to further relax on the sound of the ocean with a heartwarming tea!
