Summer packing with ÜberStreetLike0

This summer has been one of the best we have had so far and it is only getting better! We teamed up with Nour Khoury Jallad a traveler, fashion addict, francophile, Beirut aficionada and culture vulture, also goes under ÜberStreet, who is often found eating dried fruits and nuts lounging around in upward dog, dancing in the shower, or drinking gin and tonic while practicing her Warrior 1. (A yogi at heart) ” I own a toy poodle and about 120 pairs of shoes and can usually be found wearing 2 at a time.” To Nour, the perfect wardrobe is one that is always changing, because let’s face it – times change and so does style. “I set myself on a mission to do more with less.” We worked closely with Nour and her bohemian style to bring you the best of summer packing!

Favorite Beach

Tulum in Mexico, is both world famous and a microcosm of the country itself. I went to Tulum, for several days where I would go for an early morning swim or a cold Mojito in the late afternoon. The location is stunning, carved out of jungle less than 50 years ago, Tulum exists in a time warp, where the counter-cultural idealism of the late 1960’s unites with 21st-century notions of eco-tourism and sustainability. On arrival I wandered along it, marveling at the raw beauty and remoteness of the place.

In Tulum, luxury and earthiness coexist.

I am a summer gal, but the salt, sand, sun, wind, and waves can do a number on skin and hair. Here, are the products that have earned a permanent position in my beach bags.

Sun lotions in your bag

I recommend Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum, to layer under my sunscreen for longer lasting color with less sun damage; Carmex lip balm, so lips don’t dehydrate from sun exposure and salt from the sea; Clarin’s Hydra Quench Mask to rehydrate skin after its been exposed to the sun (it’s amazing); and LaRoche-Posay, Ultra Light Sunscreen, which is a must because it goes on light and dries matte with great coverage. I also recommend plenty of water, sunglasses, and a hat, since I am a little bit terrified of sun damage.

Best hair product

I use Kerastase Huile Celeste, to prevent dryness and retain shine on my hair.

Sunglasses

My Ray-Ban Waferer and my mirrored Spektre sunglasses, you can never go wrong with two pair of sunnies

Can’t live without

My summer pants by Sunflowers that I just love, a Missoni Mare swim suit, neither of which are too pricey and are easy to mix and match.

Summer Essentials

Some yoga outfits, a few t-shirts, my KJacques that have had quite a few wearing (I’ve worn them every summer since I bought them), a light white linen dress that I paired with colorful necklaces and bangles, some shorts I can romp around in on my bike…

A good read

Magazines, tons. My favorite remain Tank and Vanity Fair.

A touching book that I recommend, The Essential Tales of Chekhov by Anton Chekhov which are short stories, I allowed myself one a day, because they are like a piece of candy: perfect and fulfilling.

  • I miss you with all my heart and soul...
  • A year ago I was having breakfast with those beautiful giants. An unforgettable experience. Thank you all for your beautiful comments on my previous post 💕
  • I struggled to choose a caption for this image because they say that you are what you share on social media, and so, I wanted to make it count.
Being a 'blogger' or a 'traveler' has changed significantly over the past few years. You can’t go on Instagram without stumbling upon hundreds of carefully selected, beautifully crafted images.
The truth is, today, things are not the same as they used to be. Travel has changed and grown. The internet has given us a chance to see the world through people's eyes and to dream of places many of us never even knew existed.
But social media has also changed travel and the nature of blogging. Sharing my travel online has today somewhat been a constant pressure and the staging of every single photo has become the business of every instagrammer.
I have felt the pressure of keeping up and carefully selecting what I chose to share.
I've even promised myself that I would be a leader, not a follower, and stay far away from online traveling trends that would warp my ability to offer my readers the very best & honest tips and insider reports.
The key...is confidence... I had the chance to make every possible mistake and figure out a way to always recover from it. Once you realize that there is life after a mistake, you gain your confidence and that, never goes away,
It goes straight to the heart and once you have that, no one and nothing can take that away from you . . I hope I’ll always have the courage to live a life that’s true to who I am and not the life that others expect of me... 💕[Click link in bio to read the full article] 💕.
