Casa Colonial Beach & Spa – Dominican RepublicLike0

Puerto Plata Located on the exotic north coast of the Dominican Republic and directly on the crystal water, Casa Colonial Beach & Spa is the ultimate, world-class resort! Casa Colonial Beach & Spa is a colonial mansion, where old world charm meets modern sensibilities. It has its own beach and so many more temptations: the spa, the enchanting pool, water sports, golf, as well as meeting and wedding services.  Casa Colonial is a true Dominican Republic boutique hotel escape and a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World in the country.

Each of Casa Colonial’s 50 suites is both elaborately and elegantly decorated in contemporary furnishings.
Puerto Plata is the largest coastal town on the north coast of The Dominican Republic and is instantly recognizable by the dramatic 2,600 ft high Peak of Mount Isabel de Torres which can be seen for miles around.

History: Puerto Plata was officially founded and named in 1496 by order of Christopher Columbus, and the name of the city literally translates to port of silver, aptly chosen for the silvery hues of its natural harbor. Puerto Plata’s turn-of-the-century charm is evident in its Victorian architecture. Many of its gracious gingerbread homes date back to the republican period.

Playa Dorada, where Casa Colonial is located, is a 250 acre self-contained resort complex offering travelers the choice of things to do including a shopping mall, discos, casinos, restaurants, and of course the 13 mile beautiful sandy beach of Playa Dorada.

Offer for Travel Junkie readers have one complimentary 50 minute Thalasso therapy session at the renowned Bagua Spa (Thalassotherapy is the therapeutic use of the ocean, its climate, and marine products like sea water, algae and seaweed, and alluvial mud. The principle behind thalassotherapy is that repeated exposure to sea air and immersion in warm seawater, mud, and protein-rich algae to help restore the body’s natural chemical balance.)  PROMO CODE: CCTJD2013  Book here

  • Back in the desert 🐫 and I think summer just kicked in 🤷🏼‍♀️
  • I woke up right here on my back way from Voss to Oslo. 350 metres above Oslo city and right in Nordmarka forest🌳
  • I could be staring at the same mountains that loomed over passing Vikings and I’m in love... Wouldn’t you be?
  • From Oslo, I took the NSB train to Myrdal which is a 5 hour journey, then boarded the Flåm Railway, named by @natgeotravel one of the most beautiful train journey in Europe taking you through west Norway’s most beautiful scenery. Here we stopped for 10 minutes to step out of the railway for pictures. Can you see Chloè by the window too? ☺️
  • The sun doesn’t rise till around 9am, so it gave me a lot of time to sleep in. Flåm is a small village in southwestern Norway, in an area known for its fjords. It sits at the end of Aurlandsfjord. It’s peaceful, its historical, it’s quiet and it’s not a place you will find all over social media. I found these little red cabins while walking around the small village trying not to slip on the ice that covers the road! I did though, I slipped, laughed got bruised and luckily my camera didn’t fall into the water... but it was so close!
  • I’ve found Kattegat ♥️
  • I was always in a hurry to be someone, always in a hurry to become something and do everything. I didn’t waste my time on things or people that would get me nowhere. I crave a slow life, a simple life filled with adventures. No fast cars or expensive homes and for almost all my life, I’ve built a life in which I never needed to escape from. This is my beautiful reality and this photo represents that to me.
  • I was thinking of a caption that can relate to what I was thinking... but the truth is, simple... I was thinking of absolutely nothing at all... just the fact that I was waking up in the middle of a frozen sea. ♥️
  • Gelato for breakfast and it’s melting!! An obvious one ofcourse 😊 That was my next hunt for ‘inspiration in finding a little bit of Italy in the UAE’ project with @theitalianwayuae How many times a day would you have Gelato in Italy? For me, it was around 4-5!! #TheItalianWay
  • I have tremendous respect and admiration for people who are authentic and those who always recognize the people who help them during their journey... let’s try not to forget these people. Happy Sunday!
  • A place where I always can’t get enough of. Who would you go to Maldives with?
  • What moon? So here is the sun. ☀️ Can you find it?
Did you manage to capture the super-blue-blood moon wherever you are?
