Travel with TJD to Maldives – A mini Series part 4Like2

Travel with TJD part 4 – A mini series in Maldives kicked off on the 9th of June for 4 nights at Coco Bodu Hithi with 8 wonderful new guests and this time, our theme was celebrating women and their success! Each one of these wonderful women achieved something extra-ordinary in their lives and they are inspiring. The selection process took 2 months and was based on their personality, their achievement, the way they are around strangers, how they engage with their followers and what we can learn from each other. We also, for the first time, hosted a competition for a follower to win a trip with us and had over 200 entries from across the globe! Maya Toubia’s name was randomly selected and I could not be happier of our pick! Her charismatic charm and personality won the hearts of everyone on the island and quickly became one of my favorite people that makes me laugh! Thank you to flydubai who partnered up with Travel Junkie Diary and flew the 8 guests to Maldives on business class. Thank you to Coco Resorts for being the official partner and inviting us to stay 4 nights at their beautiful Residence Water Villas.

Our days were  filled with activities from 8am to 8pm! Travel with TJD is an experiential trip where guests experience one thing (or 2 or 5) new in their lives, tick off the bucket list or something they never imagined doing!

From snorkeling with turtles to swimming with sharks, it was a first time experience for everyone, and yes, everyone dived into the open waters where 9 sharks where swimming right under us and we were swimming with them. Carefully curating the 4 days, we included almost everything you can do on the island even when it would face the occasional rain showers. Thanks to Lisa, the resident marine biologist at Coco Bodu Hithi, we were also able to discover the island by water and learned a lot about those beautiful creatures under the sea! Everyone was also offered a 60 minute balinese massage by the award winning spa at Coco Spa and a scavenger hunt around the island was planned for the winners to receive a facial as well!

The 4 days were spent in the sun even when it would rain on us and our nights eating away at every restaurant on the island. Clarins Middle East gifted each guest a travel kit pack that included the summer essentials for our skin.

Travel with TJD is a mini series that was created a year ago and first launched in Sri Lanka. Maldives is our 4th edition. Guests from all over the world are invited. The most important thing we try to create is learning from each other. The way we always learn from strangers when asking for directions.

  • Soneva Fushi is an Island that celebrates the natural environment. The first sustainable luxury hotel in Maldives since 1995, creating a positive impact on Baa Atoll and the neighboring islands. I was proud and happy to be part of the island and learn so much more about sustainability travel. @discoversoneva
  • Hello winter in Dubai. Back here for a couple of days and rushing through the week before I take off again. I was fortunate enough to have met and worked with @zeebalife who I quickly ‘clicked’ with the moment we started chatting earlier this year. I don’t ‘click’ very easily I must admit... and I’m very much in my own bubble... and that’s ok... so when I do, I hang on to them because it just works without any effort. And it’s the best kind of friendship. Happy Sunday! #MyDubai
  • Just because she let go... doesn’t mean she wanted to... 💫
  • Let’s take a ride to the spa together 🌴 @fsmaldives
  • Droning isn’t always easy in Maldives especially when you see seaplanes crossing and guest worrying about their full right privacy. But at sunrise, when everyone is still asleep, and when the jets are no where close by, you can always fly really quick and capture the beauty of the island - ❤️🌴 @fsmaldives
  • I am drawn to your imperfections. I am drawn to shared interests and hobbies in people. I am drawn to the light in your eyes when you talk about something you love. I am drawn to your success and to your failures and most of all your challenges. I am drawn to every non-perfect side of you, because otherwise, everything will be lifeless.
  • How long can you stay in Maldives? For me, I think I can do about two weeks and never get bored, even on rainy days! @fsmaldives
  • From where she drones from @fsmaldives Who said a 5 year old couldn’t use a drone haven’t met Chloè 😊
  • Sometimes, unexpected friendships are the best 💫 - Sunny, @saltysun__ the surf manager at @discoversoneva has started a sustainability surfing programme - one of its kind in Maldives. So when she told me let’s go out at sea in the pouring rain with crazy winds, I just knew we would be friends instantly! I can’t begin to describe how much I adore the sea and what it means to me. I’m in my element. ❤️
  • A wish you were here kind of moment 😊

  • Touchdown back to my favorite place... Maldives.
Getting involved in our ocean conservation efforts by the marine biologist at @discoversoneva and the sustainability programme they are working on, for example, the Soneva Ocean Stewards (SOS) programme has taught hundreds of children how to swim and encourages the local community to appreciate the precious marine ecosystem surrounding them.
  • The year is almost over - flew by so quick at times and times it passed too slow!! This was shot in January early this year. I have a good feeling about 2018 despite 2017 being a little challenging. What are your Christmas plans? I’m spending it in Lebanon with family and friends, what about you?
