Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah

To really stand out as a hotel in Dubai is beyond challenging. A misconception of architecture vs services is often debatable of which stands out more. Is it the property’s numerous infinity pools? Or perhaps their kid’s club if that is a concern to you. Or even maybe the beach’s shore or the luxury night life it provides. If you are are a foodie, you would probably rate it by the restaurants. Then, there is for others, comfort. That is when we enter the Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah

Comfort may seem like an easy criteria. But it’s really not as simple as it sounds. Comfort is effortless. But in a hotel, effort is everything. Before we get too philosophical, we all have been through this feeling of either entering a hotel and feeling ‘at home’ or like a princess (or not) guest. We take the ‘feeling at home’ over anything, any day and this is kind of what we felt when visiting the Waldorf Dubai Palm Jumeirah Now, it is no secret that we love all things bohemian, and we are all about the nature and simplicity. The Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah is nothing Bohemian, but we all deserve some luxury travel every now and then and when you decide that you do, then you can never go wrong with Waldorf Astoria The Palm Jumeirah in Dubai.

Before going on, here are some interesting facts we learned along the way on the Waldorf Astoria’s facts

  • The Waldorf Astoria was the first hotel to offer room service, making a huge impact for the future of the hotel industry!
  • Conrad Hilton when he purchased the hotel in 1949
  • The investigation into the sinking of the Titanic in 1912 was held at the old Waldorf-Astoria in NYC. John Jacob Astor IV, who built the Astoria Hotel, which became part of the old Waldorf-Astoria, died on the Titanic. His second wife Madeline, seven months pregnant, survived the sinking.

We had our eyes on The Waldorf Dubai Palm Jumeirah  for quite some time and when we knew they opened (soft launch) for business, we needed to be the first ones there! Having to write this on a blog made it extremely difficult and took a long time, only because all we did was relaxed, walked on the beach, relaxed some more and had a weekend of sun and food! Pure bliss!

The room was breathtaking. A king size room facing the sea and a massive balcony. To name a few, a walk in closet, Ipod deck, a TV in the bathroom and a bacteria free phone hand set for those who just like the extra cleanliness or a bit of an OCD.

If you are one of those people who sets their alarm at 7am to make sure that you were the first at the breakfast lounge, then you would surely appreciate this when we tell you that search high and low, we have never found a spectacular breakfast buffet as this one! Everything from muesli  (favorite) to home made chocolate croissant (also my favorite) to the fanciest breakfast! Nothing was shy away from the table and it made perfect sense why breakfast was served till 11am! But, if you are also one of those people who do not want to over eat so that you don’t look hideous in a bikini so early, I assure you, it will be difficult to resist.

The property has 2 beautiful pools. An infinity pool to the right, semi-isolated from the main pool. It was the perfect ‘set your mind free’ experience.

Since it’s still at it’s soft launch, the kids area and the spa was not operational, but the beach and the pool was just perfect! By mid-day, ice lollies that were passed on to everyone was the highlight of the day for the children and the grown ups!

The Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah is the perfect getaway for those who wish to spend a weekend in Dubai and not leave the city and a great holiday planner for those coming from abroad. Here is a small re-cap.

Location: Perfectly situated in The Palm Dubai district area, you can easily call for a taxi from the reception desk or walk through the promenade, you cannot however walk to the main road outside the palm, unless you have all day…or rent bicycles from outside.

F&B: We had breakfast at Mezzerie and it was one of the best breakfast we had. Options varied from delicious home made croissants to healthy muesli. If we were rating, we would rate the breakfast  as 10/10! We had lunch  at Palm Avenue, on the pool side. It’s perfect for beach food, pool side food or if you just want to be seated in the restaurant facing the lovely pool. Our dinner was at LAO, a South East Asian cuisine, recommended if you fancy contemporary dishes.

Pools: An infinity pool facing the beach. No kids were seen around, which made it so peaceful and another pool for families and tanning beds around it with a small kids pool close bye. Perfect for those with children and for those who wish to tan by the pool in the water.

Rooms: We stayed at a King Size Deluxe room facing the pool and sea with a stunning balcony! Exquisite taste and amenities.

Service: A dear friend once said, the moment you have someone open the door for you at a hotel, is the moment you know that this is going to be a personal kind of stay. Everybody knew our names, our room number. It’s the smallest details that counts.

Spa: The spa should open its doors in April. Once they do, we will be the first one there!

Kids club: Also, not yet opened, should open by April, looking forward for this one.

Activities: Recommended for those who love to play tennis. A court is available. For those who like water sports activities, there are no water sports activities on the beach yet.

The Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah is recommend for a short and long stays and for honeymooners or families with kids who prefer a less active but balanced day.

  • I’ve been on the road a lot in Lebanon which has been an adventure on its own! The Infiniti Q30 2.0 has the navigation system with updated maps of Lebanon which made it easier to find my way around. It’s things like this I love the most about returning back here. Endless road trips with friends and despite Lebanon being so small, the adventures are endless! #infinitilebanon #Q30
  • Home sweet home ♥️ Spent the weekend dancing the night away and at the beach during the day!
How was your weekend?? 🇱🇧
  • Compassion is power. Compassion asks us to go where it hurts, to enter into the places of pain, fear and happiness.
Compassion challenges us to cry out with those in misery and to smile with those who are happy. Compassion towards others is what makes me human and it’s a skill that I’ve learned to cultivate. And if you don’t have it, then it would be difficult for me to have you in my life.
So this is a reminder to be good to each other today and to those you don’t know. God knows how many of us need it.
Happy Saturday ♥️
  • Lake Chouwen - Lebanon 🇱🇧
A beautiful reserve, a 45 minutes hike and an adventurous location through Jabal Moussa! I even drove through the tiniest road into the mountains and was freaking out but made it through thanks to my co-pilot :)!
Lebanon is filled and surrounded with beautiful nature. 🇱🇧
Had an incredible day exploring Lebanon with @ramimansourr @mikhaelbitar @sarahdibrahim @abbas_kalel
  • Lebanon’s morning activities are filled with daily road trips across the mountains and the coast with close friends. Stopping by historical landmarks and eating the best zaatar in small villages. It also helps when your #infiniti car has BOSE sound-system 😊
Happy Tuesday everyone! 🇱🇧♥️ #Q30 #infinitilebanon
  • Good morning from home in Lebanon in Beit Douma. I can’t tell you how happy I am to be back in Lebanon!!! Have you ever been?

I’ve added an article on a guide to 9 guesthouses in Lebanon, you can click the link in my bio.
  • There really isn’t any better way to sail across Madeira Island than with Pedro and his gang! @rotadoscetaceos2016 We saw whales and swam with wild dolphins!!!! We jumped in the (freezing) Atlantic sea and went diving and discovered the most beautiful island 🌴 Now it’s your turn to go!
  • A beautiful slow morning in Madeira 🌴
Isn’t it beautiful?
  • I believe in giving people time...Time to process the good and the bad because there is something so beautiful about unforced bonds.
I’m a forever kind of person. I don’t have room for temporary. I believe in big love, of growing old with your friends and soulmates. I believe in being there for people through thick and thin. I believe in not giving up when things get tough. I believe in relationships that can make it through everything.
  • It was sunny and we were heading to the pool in Lisbon when all of a sudden a little rain cloud passed and so decided to just walk out and get some pastel de nata 😊
  • Today, my mind is like a laptop set up.
I have 20 tabs open, 4 of them are frozen and I have no idea where the music is coming from... 🤷🏼‍♀️ Dreaming of going back to Madeira 🌴
  • Madeira Island is home to Europe's tallest sea cliff- more than 1,900 feet above sea level. The Madeira Archipelago is located in the Atlantic Ocean, in the African plate.
Before my trip to Madeira, some people told me I only need 3-4 days to tour the island. It’s far from the truth and I’m glad I didn’t listen to them! It’s been a week here and there is still so much I feel I haven’t explored yet!! Would you visit Madeira Island? 🇵🇹
