Before I start this diary, you have to know something… This is a different kind of personal post. I decided to write this only because I knew it could help so many of my readers, friends and those who have reached out asking me about my 14 day detox program.
I have been on and off diets ever since I was a teenager. I was always a healthy eater, sometimes too good for my own good. That does not mean I do not enjoy croissants and Donuts. Believe me, I live to eat…not eat to live. So, food was and is always my comfort. I binge eat when I’m sad, happy, bored, busy and most of all, when I travel and I have been traveling for work ever since I turned 18.
My weight kept fluctuating up and down at different years/phases in my life. I suffer from PCOS, IBS, Digestive problems and probably all kinds of diagnosed letters there is. In a nut shell, I always felt bloated, fought tiredness and been to so many doctors that ended up them telling me ” This is genetic” or ” Take this medicine” or ” You have inflammation in your intestines take this” and I always knew that ‘THIS’ wasn’t the answer.
Our bodies are designed in such a smart way that even if we seize to understand the anatomy of the body, it does not mean we should ignore it. In Yoga, they teach us to listen to our body. I knew, that I needed to do something about what I was feeling, even if I was almost 17 years late. Better late than never…I guess.

Meeting Kay Bodanza
I was introduced to Kay Bodanza at the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Hospital and always the author of Wellness with Kay, originally from South Africa with over 14 years experience in the health, wellness and fitness industry. As a qualified nutritionist, Kay has trained at the world renowned Chi Centre for Practical Detoxification in the UK as a colon hydrotherapist and naturopathic wellness-screening therapist.
I have to admit. I was very skeptical, as I always am. I mean, you can’t blame me…I’ve had every doctor ‘check me out’ to ‘normal’. We instantly connected. As cheesy as it sounds…she completes me (yes…I said it) I reckon by biggest problem with doctors probably was that they either did not believe me or never heard of the word bloating and irritable colon. Kay went through everything step by step explaing to me why I felt (past tense) this way, what foods to avoid, how animals’ and plants’ stress affect our own, what exercise to do and finally how this 14 day detox with colon hydrotherapy would be my guide to the perfect detox plan.
Why Colon Hydrotherapy?
Flying causes dehydration which can result in discomfort and bloating

I have to say, this was the first time, in a long time, I stick to a plan like this one. When I speak of it to people, I can see their jaw dropping down. Today, after I completed my 14 days detox, I promised myself to continue for as long as I could. It’s not easy, especially if you love your bread, cheese, labneh and your ice cream. But, my body has started to crave for essentially juices right after I had finished the 3 days of juicing and had to go back to minimal eating. My stomach shrunk and all I wanted was the essentially juices and to continue the guide to the perfect detox. I drove 45 minutes one day to find the juices at Ripe store, only to have one left in their fridge. I would never trade how I feel now to any food ever again. That’s how good, healthy and clean I feel.

The essentially 3 day detox juice
On day 5 of your 14 day detox, you will have to enroll in the 3 day detox juice program. The first day will be so exciting you will almost forget what you miss the most. Your body would have already prepped for this and drinking juice every 2 hours fills you up and they ARE delicious!
The one thing you will miss is the action of crunching. Don’t cave in. I suffered day 2 with some headaches, but it’s part of the process and releasing toxins out of my body. Practice Yoga, have a massage, drink lots of water. Day 3 will pass by like a breeze of fresh air! Your second colon hydrotherapy would have been scheduled on day 2 of your juice.
The post effect and service from both, essentially and Kay Bodanza was encouraging. Kay stayed in touch with me on my food intake, any questions or even weak moments. Essentially had sent me a list of food to avoid, a supermarket checklist and few of their healthy famous recipes.
I always joke now to Kay saying she wont recognise me when I walk through her clinic door. I’m not 100% cured yet but I’m on my way!
